The new release from TUDOR, the 'Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition' timepiece comes with several firsts for TUDOR that go beyond just a watch. This partnership marks TUDORs first venture into the world of yacht racing. The Alinghi Red Bull Racing AC75 yacht represents the very best in cutting edge maritime engineering - utilizing a blend of carbon, titanium and stainless steel. Sharing the tradition of pushing boundaries and an innovative spirit, this partnership encompasses all it means to be part of the TUDOR and Alinghi Red Bull Racing mindset.
This timepiece features a matte-finished black carbon fibre composite case, with fixed strap bars and a screw-down crown. Carbon fibre has an impressive strength to weight ratio, and this is the first timepiece in the TUDOR lineup where this material has featured within the case and bezel insert. The Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo is engraved into the caseback. A 60-minute bidirectional bezel is made from titanium, whilst a carbon-composite insert sees Super-LumiNova luminous material fill in the graduations around the circumference. The dial is a matte blue colour, sitting below white hour 'cubes' that echo geometric details of the sailing yacht, paired with solid white hands and a sharp red seconds hand. These indications are made from monoblock ceramic and echo other models in the Pelagos collection by illuminating blue (as oppose to the traditional green) thanks to the X1 Super-LumiNova coating. The signature 'Pelagos' writing remains in red above the 6 o'clock position, with white text outlining the watches chronometer certification and 200m (660ft) waterproofness. This timepiece is powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT 5602, which is a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Presented on a single piece blue fabric strap that features a red stitching detailing and grade 5 titanium buckles.
