Crafted in Navy blue Guilloché Enamel, it opens to reveal the hidden thistle surprise, featuring 18ct yellow gold black rhodium plated guilloché base, with an 18ct yellow gold thistle plant, each hand-painted with green and purple enamel. The Egg sits 75mm high and is showcased on a mounted stand crafted from frosted rock crystal. The Egg features responsibly sourced Gemfields' Mozambican cabochon ruby button.
This thistle plant has become the national emblem of Scotland after it was chosen by Sir Walter Scott for George IV's visit to Scotland in 1822.
Fabergé's 'In Bloom' collection pays homage to its rich heritage, fusing the iconic egg with the celebrated flower studies for which Peter Carl Fabergé was renowned.
