The Laings Journal

Laings had the pleasure of collaborating with the inaugural Scottish Influencer Awards, which brought together the best of Scotland’s social media stars to celebrate creativity. The event allowed us to pay homage to our Scottish heritage by sponsoring the Lifestyle Influencer of The Year category and lending a beautiful collection of jewellery and watches to nominees.
The Scottish Influencer Awards were held in the Radisson Red hotel in Glasgow, with Laings hosting the Laings Lounge for VIPs and the dazzling Laings Lunch. Alongside several nominees in the Lifestyle category, Laings also dressed the Style, Health & Wellbeing and Lifestyle Influencer of The Year winners. We proudly supported the event alongside Ferrari and Whispering Angel, being the sole sponsor from the jewellery and watch industry. Together, we honoured social art and passion, values which resonate with our own.
The Laings Lounge
The day began in the Laings Lounge, where influencers were invited to be dressed in their hand-picked jewellery pieces over a glass of Lanson champagne. The social stars used their jewellery to showcase individuality, with choices ranging from exquisite diamonds to hued gemstones. Winner of the Style category, Caroline Cook (@CarolineStyleHacks), opted for a classic diamond set including an emerald cut bangle and matching ring, exuding brilliance and sparkle. John Robertson (@TheEverydayMan), who won Lifestyle Influencer of The Year, opted for a Laings Pre-Owned Cartier Santos. Continuing the winning streak, Rona McMillan who won Health and Wellbeing Influencer of The Year, was dressed in Laings round brilliant diamonds. Fashion influencer Jilly Isabella and presenter Danni Menzies stunned in deep blue sapphires. Other highlights included Wendy Gilmour (@ThankFifi), Shauna McGregor and Jennifer Reoch who wore carefully selected Laings diamond pieces.
The Laings Lunch
Leading on from the Laings Lounge, 100 VIPs were invited to the pre-ceremony Laings Lunch. This was an opportunity for us to invite guests to enjoy an exquisite lunch while immersing themselves in a display of dazzling diamonds. Fine jewellery was placed on the centre pieces of each table alongside beautiful floral arrangements, creating magical moments of discovery. Each guest was encouraged to try on pieces and to explore the jewellery for themselves.
The Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony rounded off a remarkable day, honouring Scotland’s showcase of social stars. Sally Pearson, Marketing Director, presented John Robertson (@TheEverydayMan) with the Lifestyle Influencer of The Year award, saying:
“Just as we have honed our expertise, craftsmanship and passion for exceptional service throughout generations, each of the shortlisted influencers epitomised quality and dedication to their art. We were delighted to present John Robertson with the Laings sponsored Lifestyle Influencer of The Year award, a truly trusted voice of men’s style and culture in Scotland.”
Laings embraces the social and digital future for Scotland, with passionate individuals being at the heart of what we support. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the first ever Scottish Influencer Awards, a fine display of rising creatives and a testament to the future of the country.
