Whether you’re together or apart it is the perfect time to pull out all the stops and make the festive season a cosy one. Here we’ve compiled our favourite Christmas activities that you can do from the comfort of your home.
Christmastime is special for so many reasons, and this year we all want to make it as magical as possible. Our list of Christmas activities will certainly get you in the spirit of the season and make this year one to remember for all the right reasons.
Christmas Baking
The kitchen can be a chaotic place at this time of year, but baking will definitely lift the spirits. It's the perfect way to have fun and relax while creating something delicious for the whole family to (hopefully!) enjoy. With a multitude of Christmas baking recipes online you're sure to find something that tickles your taste buds. Try experimenting with new festive flavours or why not go with classic Christmas biscuits, they're simple to make, fun to decorate and perfect for getting children involved.
Upcycling
With a little more time on our hands than usual, upcycling is a great way to give your decorations a new lease of life. We’ve all been there, you’ve got an ornament that has seen better days, but it holds special memories or sentimental value so you couldn’t possibly ever get rid of it. Well, upcycling is here to save the day, our favourite trick to spruce up your tree is painting your baubles with a new colour or pattern. You can find most craft materials in large supermarkets or if you’re able to, a trip to the local craft store will provide you with a treasure chest of options to give your pieces a little something extra.
Get Outdoors
‘Oh the weather outside is frightful’ - it certainly is during December in the UK, but we do have some nice days amongst the snow and slush. If you’re lucky enough to live near a park or green space, winter mornings make for the most beautiful walks. Frost covered grass and crisp winter sun give the air a certain magic that is simply unbeatable. Wrap up, grab a coffee and appreciate the beauty of nature. Alternatively, one of our favourite things to do is go for an evening stroll around the neighbourhood and look at all the Christmas lights. You can go with friends or family and pick out for your favourites!

We all know the rush of Christmas shopping and how stressful it can be. Cosy up in your pyjamas, choose your favourite film and settle down with as many snacks as you like. For drinks, hot chocolate always goes down well, or for something a little stronger a Christmassy cocktail can be extra special. A quick google search, and you’ll find a wonder of concoctions that use what you’ve already got in the house, to save you the trouble we like this one.
