Jaeger-LeCoultre - New Geophysic Line

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic collection is named after a watch that was created back in 1958 in the International Geophysical Year by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The original 1958 Geophysic was designed for scientists working in the North Pole and featured an outstanding chronometer capable of withstanding magnetic fields while losing none of its precision.

The distinctive movement driving the Geophysic collection, automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 770, is synonymous with high precision and mechanical beauty. This innovative caliber has been designed by the most highly specialised engineers of this brand’s Research & Development division

Geophysic True Second

Geophysic True Second, with an elegant and reassuring 39.6mm diameter confirms its cultural roots in the field of Haute Horlogerie. Geophysics is a celebration of contemporary classicism, reinforced by the baton-type hands and linear hour-markers.

This new watch from Jaeger-Le Coultre mixes an instrumental watch with a classic design which comes in both Steel and Rose Gold. On first glance, it looks understated and some may mistake it for a quartz watch with its 'ticking' second hand rather than running constantly like an automatic does.

The movement inside is  what makes this watch different. This movement consists of an additional 60 parts including an additional hairspring in the center which gathers the energy and releases it every second to indicate the true seconds. As well as this, it also allows you to adjust the hour hand without effecting the timing of the watch.

Geophysic Universal

The world map on the face of the Geophysic Universal Time depicts the sea with subtly graded lacquered shades of blue, while the engraved continents are graced with a beautiful sunburst finish.

Much like the Geophysic True Second the Universal time is available in both Steel and Rose Gold and pushes the boundaries of classic elegance. The Universal time comes with a stunning world map on the dial which clearly sets the two watches apart. This watch combines not only True seconds but also world time which makes it a must for a frequent traveller who has a passion for watches.

With the watch being targeted at world travellers, it can be adjusted in a very intuitive manner operating the crown rather than using push buttons. This makes it easier to use than may be thought. When adjusting the local time this is done independently keeping the accuracy and precision you may expect form a Jaeger-Le Coultre time piece.

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic collection is available in store exclusively outside of London at Laing Edinburgh. You can now view the range online, where you can enquire about any of the pieces or come in store to try one of these incredible watches on for yourself.
