In a sensational celebration of heritage, craftsmanship and design, Laings is delighted to unveil a unique pendant, created in collaboration with iconic jewellery Maison, Fabergé.
The exclusive egg locket has been handcrafted from 18ct rose gold and opens to reveal a Bull Thistle surprise hidden inside, a homage to Laings rich Scottish heritage and delightfully in keeping with the whimsical ‘Fabergé in Bloom’ series. The bale of the locket is adorned with 14 round brilliant cut diamonds.
Fabergé found its home at Laings last year, captivating Laings clientele with its fascinating story and remarkable creations. Starting its journey just two years after our own, Laings and Fabergé share a unique synergy, both incorporating age-old skills to create jewels with the finest gemstones in the world.

Celebrating the 180th year of the Maison, The Fabergé in Bloom series harmoniously combines the essence of the remarkable and iconic eggs with the celebrated flower studies for which Peter Carl Fabergé was renowned. The exclusive thistle pendant takes inspiration from this spirited collection, with fusions of Laings Scottish heritage illustrated in the beautifully crafted hidden surprise thistle.
According to legend, centuries ago, the thistle saved a party of sleeping Scots from ambush by an invading Norse army when one of the enemies stepped on the spiky plant. His cry awakened the sleeping warriors who were then able to conquer the invaders. The endearing plant has gone on to develop legendary status in Scottish heraldry, representing one of the highest honours the country can give an individual – the Order of the Thistle.
With only five of the Fabergé for Laings Thistle Egg Surprise Lockets currently available, these are true collectors’ items which have been designed to be worn and cherished.
