Watches and Wonders 2021 brought us a glimpse of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 which focused on a clear concept – creating a bold, high-performance, ergonomic watch for divers that was distinctively TAG Heuer.
Read on as Laings explore the collection further and discover how TAG Heuer combine divers’ watch traditions with refined design and material that would meet and exceed the high expectations of today’s consumers.
The legacy of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer began in 1978 with the release of the first Heuer diving watch, Ref. 844. This model was designed with a bold red 24-hour scale, lume-filled hour markers and a rotating divers’ bezel with a perfectly legible minutes scale for optimum diving conditions. This iconic design set the standard for divers watches globally and was quickly adopted by many for professional and recreational diving purposes. TAG Heuer continues its legacy in the world of diving, pushing the limits of design and performance with renowned pieces such as the Night Diver and the 2000 series models. Today, TAG Heuer goes above and beyond the edge with the Aquaracer Professional 300.
The Aquaracer is reinvented in a series of new-generation models. Remaining bold yet elegant and staying true to its esteemed diving properties, this highly robust watch goes beyond the edge in its technical properties while keeping its luxury feel. The new collection is designed for work and play, symbolising the essence of TAG Heuer’s fearless, progressive spirit.
The robust and versatile nature of divers’ watches makes them popular in and out of the diving community. With this in mind, TAG Heuer evolved the iconic collection to be more comfortable in a thinner and lighter design. The case, bezel and bracelet have been slimmed down and combined with shorter lugs for a sleek finish that does not interfere with precision and performance.
TAG Heuer follows its fellow industry leaders to introduce a new green dial Aquaracer to the collection. The new model features a green sunray brushed dial combining refined aesthetics with extreme function. The lightweight, scratch-resistant grade 2 titanium allows for optimum functionality along with refined aesthetics. Green dials were a staple in this year’s watches and wonders exhibition. TAG Heuer has successfully incorporated this into their iconic collection, creating an entirely contemporary watch while staying true to the legacy that began more than 40 years ago.
