OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean

The Planet Ocean family continues a rich history of ocean exploration, paying homage to their heritage. With OMEGA’s maritime legacy in mind, the Planet Ocean was launched in 2005 and has been a favourite of watch lovers ever since. The sleek models have a modern, innovative design, complete with creative touches, state-of-the-art materials and a Master Chronometer Movement.

Crafted in stainless steel the model features a white ceramic dial with applied Arabic numerals in orange, as well as a date window at 3 o’clock. The original OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean watches were known for their bright orange tones, its modern counterpart embraces this with a polished orange ceramic bezel, giving it a stand-out look. The OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8900 is at the heart of the timepiece, impressively passing eight rigorous tests set by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). The precise wristwatch has an enticing style and it's a fascinating model to explore from every angle. It's clear that exquisite craftsmanship and attention detail have helped to create the watch and it embraces impressive technology and design.

The handsome case is crafted from Sedna gold and features an opaline silver dial which is displayed on a blue leather strap. The exterior of the silvery dial includes vertical teak stripes and a charming circle of global destinations printed to colour-coded lettering. The intricate vision of the earth is created on a grade 5 titanium plate that has been laser-ablated to create the blue ocean, leaving a relief of the continents. The contrasting colours of the earth's surface were achieved naturally by the laser's chemical reaction. This magnificent timepiece is then powered by the Master Chronometer Calibre 8939 and features a special luxury finish with a Sedna gold rotor and balance bridge with Geneva waves in arabesque.

OMEGA undertook an impressive re-design of this collection and all of the models have undergone a stylish makeover, making them absolutely irresistible. The clean, simple and balanced look is a refined design that’s the perfect balance between sophistication and the ocean spirit. As a superb tribute to its rich maritime heritage, the timepiece has been given a refreshing new look, with its popular features being enhanced or subtly transformed.

It’s characterised by a clean aesthetic, with a clear and simple dial. The case is a symmetrical design and the date window has been moved to 6 o’clock to reflect the very first OMEGA watch with a date window in 1952. The green dial is distinguished by a horizontal ‘teak’ pattern that was inspired by the wooden decks of luxury sailboats, adding a touch of the sea to your everyday look. Powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8900 it shows extraordinary levels of magnetic resistance and its technical expertise is just as impressive as its style.
