An Evening of Rolex and Diamonds with Laings of Glasgow

On Thursday night Laings hosted a special Rolex and Diamonds showcase at exclusive private members club 29 in Glasgow’s Royal Exchange Square.

Highlights of the evening included entertainment from Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation Edward Reid and a sumptuous three course meal. During a drinks reception guests were given the opportunity to browse various Rolex and diamond jewellery displays where Laings’ staff were on hand to discuss the finer details of each piece.

The intimate surroundings were perfect for showcasing Laings’ wide selection of diamond rings and 18ct White Gold necklaces, bracelets and earrings. A 2.08 carat diamond ring (£6550) was presented in our classic brown leather box and decorated with brown and gold Laings ribbon.

During the evening our ‘Guess the number of diamonds in a glass’ competition raised money for The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Brick by Brick Appeal and one lucky winner took home £500 of Laings gift vouchers. In addition guests were offered complimentary diamond cleaning and given copies of the new Laings magazine featuring images from our latest advertising campaign shot in Marbella, Spain.

Guests were seated comfortably at circular tables around the ‘Supper Club’ suite and treated to an exquisite three course meal of delicate crab salad, rich lamb and vegetables and decadent chocolate dessert.  Each table was named after the Rolex watches on display including Datejust, Day Date, Cosmograph Daytona, GMT Master, Submariner and Yacht-Master.

Reid’s ‘Rolex is forever’ version of a classic James Bond hit was timely as customers tried on various styles of the luxurious timepiece at their tables. A yellow diamond ring, bracelet and necklace set also caught the eye of the ladies in the room and will certainly be on a few Christmas wish lists!

We guessed Edward’s enthusiasm would encourage a few ladies to hit the dance floor by the end of the evening and we were right. His set closed with a rendition of Summertime hit ‘Blurred Lines’ that had the whole room clapping to the music and few brave customers dancing the night away under the disco ball.
