Hans Wilsdorf, Rolex founder, patented the TUDOR brand in 1926 and went on to form a separate company to Rolex with the object of making and marketing a new watch which would attain the standard of dependability for which Rolex is famous, at a more modest price. Fast forward 90 years and TUDOR in testimony towards its pioneering approach to watchmaking unveils in 2015 the Pelagos and the North Flag, powered by 100% swiss made inhouse manufacture movements featuring a 70-hour power reserve.
