Jaeger-LeCoultre - 3 Favourites
There’s a lot to love about Jaeger-LeCoultre, from the fact that almost every part of every watch is made in house, to the 1000 hours of testing that each watch receives, to their commitment to innovative design and the ability to create true icons. We are very proud to be Edinburgh’s exclusive stockist of this fabulous brand.
Their process for creating new timepieces is what really sets them apart. Instead of forcing existing movements into new watches, Jaeger-LeCoultre start with a design, and then create a movement that fits it. As such, they have created over 1,200 different movements, with each different model containing its own specially created calibre. This feat is made possible by having every part of the process under one roof in their manufacture in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux.
From the Atmos clock to the Reverso, many of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s creations have justifiably reached icon status. They offer the full horology spectrum, from simple time only watches right up to grand complications as well as everything in between. With some difficulty our brand managers have managed to narrow down 3 favourite models:
Master Ultra Thin 1907 A tribute to what was at the time the thinnest movement ever created, produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1907, this elegant two handed manually wound watch fully showcases the brand’s expertise in thin mechanical movements. A master class in pared back refinement, it is the perfect dress watch.

| Rendez-Vous Tourbillon In 18ct gold and set with diamonds, this watch is a glorious jewellery creation in its own right, however it also houses one of the most fascinating and prestigious watchmaking complications: the tourbillon. Their tourbillons have won awards for the most accurate ever created, and this mastery is carried into this beautiful ladies watch with the same exceptional quality you would find in their gents’ range. |
| Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire A fascinating watch whose movement contains two power sources - one purely for timekeeping and one for the display of functions (date, moon phase, jumping seconds and power reserves). The second power source ensures that no power is taken from the watch’s movement ensuring the highest level of accuracy at all times. A true masterpiece of micromechanics. |
