What is GIA and IGI certification?

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and International Gemological Institute (IGI) are globally recognised organisations considered to be the foremost authorities on diamond grading. The GIA is credited with establishing the 4 Cs used to assess the quality of diamonds today.

GIA or IGI-certified diamonds have been directly evaluated by their experts. Most of our diamonds over 0.30 carats are GIA-certified, and you'll find certificate reference numbers on the engagement ring product pages. The larger stones in our lab-grown collection all have IGI accreditation.

What are the 4 Cs?

Cut: Most important to the appearance of the diamond, this changes how much it sparkles.
Carat: The weight of the diamond, commonly misunderstood as the size.
Clarity: An assessment of the inclusions or 'imperfections' within the stone, done under 10x magnification.
Colour: The degree to which a white diamond is colourless.

Our GIA and IGI-inspired diamond engagement rings

Our smaller diamonds, often placed to increase the brilliance of the central stone, are GIA or IGI-inspired, in that they meet the high grading standards in terms of the 4 Cs but have not been officially assessed by the organisations.
