Adopting a weightless style is the Ballon Bleu watch by Cartier, thanks to its gentle curves and soft design. Crafted in 2007 for a unisex audience, this timepiece echoes those traditional round shapes with a more balanced design, particularly noted in the winding crown that is perfectly integrated into the case. To avoid any breaking of the circumference, the bezel, case and dial gently contour round the winding crown, whilst traditional roman numerals and sword-shaped hands pay tribute to the Maison’s design language seen across their watch offering.
This 40mm model has a mechanical movement with automatic winding, calibre 1847 MC. The 18ct rose gold case is an updated twist on the traditional stainless steel, which houses a dark grey sunray brushed dial. The roman numeral hour markers featured on the dial are a signature of the Maison, and rose gold sword-shaped hands sit above. This timepiece is finished by a grey alligator strap which - with the rose gold folding buckle - is interchangeable. This model is water-resistant to 3 bar/30 metres. The power reserve of 40 hours.
