Why I Love Patek Philippe
'Patek Philippe to me are not just a brand, they are a company that stands for the purest form of watchmaking and traditional know-how. Their values are un-compromising and ensure the highest levels of craftsmanship are achieved on every single watch they produce, which per year isn't many.
Patek Philippe's brand values are clear and well defined - Independence, Tradition, Innovation, Quality Workmanship, Rarity, Value, Aesthetics, Service, Emotion, Heritage. For anyone who owns or wants to own a Patek Philippe, you can be confident that these values are what have given Patek the edge since their story began in 1839.
The similarities between Patek and Parkhouse are distinctive; both companies share an obvious passion for the highest quality product and exceptional service. In fact Parkhouse was founded in 1794, 45 years before Patek, and to this day is 'Delivering Dreams' to its customers with stunning and unique diamond rings and jewellery as well as offering the widest range of Swiss watches in the South of England, including Patek Philippe.
When people think of Patek Philippe they probably think of complications, and they have been at the forefront of creating some of the worlds most complicated pocket watches and wristwatches. This year they celebrate a milestone anniversary of 175 years and to mark this momentous occasion they have produced the 'Grandmaster Chime'. This is the most complicated wrist watch they have ever produced and contains no less than 20 complications including a minute repeater, perpetual calendar and mechanical alarm. It contains a staggering 1,366 individual components for the movement alone and if the case is included it brings the total to an even more staggering 1,580 components. The production and assembly process took a total of 100,000 man hours with 60,000 hours attributed to manufacturing the movement components, some of which weigh less than a snowflake, nevertheless these are still hand-finished.'
