WEDDING CHECKLIST

Your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life, full of happiness and excitement. However, there is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into making this a day you’ll never forget. To help you plan your big day, we’ve put together a checklist of some of the things you need to organise. We have based this on a 12-18 month engagement period, but it doesn't matter if your engagement is longer or shorter than this.

12 – 18 months before

• Sit down and discuss your budget. How much money can you and your partner afford to put towards the wedding, and will your parents be helping out at all?
  
• Pick some potential dates. It is a good idea to check with any important guests to make sure there are no clashes.
• Choose your maid of honour, best man, bridesmaids and groomsmen.
• Start looking at potential venues, both for the ceremony and the reception. As soon as you find the perfect venue, book it, as these tend to get booked up quite far in advance and you don’t want to miss out!
• Start working on your guest list and send out save the date cards.

9 – 12 months before

• Choose and book your photographer.
• Choose and book your caterer and decide on your menu.
• Choose and book your band and/or DJ for the reception.
• Start looking at wedding dresses, bridesmaid’s dresses and suits for the groom and groomsmen.

6 – 9 months before

• Choose and book your florist.
• Start planning your honeymoon.
• Start working on your invites.
• Purchase your wedding rings.
• Order your wedding dress.
• Book your transportation for the big day.

3 – 6 months before

• Order your bridesmaid’s dresses and groom and groomsmen’s suits.
• Start writing your vows.
• Put your wedding gift register together.
• Plan out a schedule for the big day.
• Arrange your accommodation for the wedding night.
• Book your honeymoon.
• Choose a cake maker and order your cake.

1-3 months before

• Send out your invitations.
• Buy gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen.
• Go for a final fitting for your wedding dress and get any last minute adjustments made.
• Confirm final numbers with venue and caterers.

1 week before

• Get your hair cut and have a manicure/pedicure.
• Try to relax!
