Watch Focus: Tudor Heritage Black Bay
Hailing from the Rolex family Tudor have always been known for their durable and reliable watches. With an adventurous heritage, technical prowess and an acute sense of style Tudor have created watches with the same high-quality as Rolex, but at a more affordable price. The brand is often seen as the playful brother of Rolex, having a bit more fun with their timepieces and their outgoing style means they have a bit of flair about them.
One of the most popular collections from Tudor is the outstanding Heritage Black Bay line.

The distinctive collection is easily recognised and much-loved by watch fans. Launching in 2012 it went on to win the prestigious Rival Prize at the Grand Prix D’Horlogerie in Geneva, forever cementing the lines place in the luxury watch world. Drawing on the brands diving history the characteristic features take inspiration from past models. The history of Tudor divers’ watches dates back to 1954 and since then there’s been a long line of accurate and robust divers’ watches. Built on the aesthetic and technical foundations of the ideal divers’ watch the models have constantly improved throughout the years, leading us to the Heritage Black Bay line.
The handsome aesthetic of the watch has proven popular and they’re easily recognised by the ‘snowflake hands’, borrowed from the Tudor watches used by the French National Navy in the 1970s. The case can be presented on either a steel bracelet or an aged leather strap, allowing you to choose from a classic style or more antique look.
Furthermore, there’s also a burgundy or blue version, with the colour decorating the unidirectional rotatable steel bezel. The blue version has a bold black dial with luminescent coated white hour markers, which can easily be seen when diving. The burgundy version also has prominent hour-markers for ease of visibility, but this time they are presented on a beautiful black-chocolate dial.
The models featured here have now been discontinued by the brand – so don’t miss out on your chance to own a special piece of Tudor history!
