Patek Philippe at Watches and Wonders 2024

Since 1839, Patek Philippe has been at the forefront of redefining the standards of fine watchmaking. This year's Watches and Wonders is no exception, as the renowned watchmaker unveils eleven unique new alliances of technical prowess and style. Through a series of pioneering, never-before-seen innovations, the brand reaffirms its unrivalled position in watchmaking with groundbreaking mechanisms.

Ref. 5330G-001 – The New Generation of World Time

First introduced in 2023 as a limited edition at the Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition “Watch Art”  Tokyo, Reference 5330 is now entering the manufacturer's regular collection. The new World Time model is joining Patek Philippe’s distinguished collection of world-first mechanisms, featuring a date display synchronised with local time. The impressive new movement is accompanied by a unique design crafted in white gold with a blue-grey opaline dial and “carbon” motif centre.

Ref. 5738/1R-001 – A new chain-style bracelet for the legendary Golden Ellipse

Launched in 1968, the Golden Ellipse made waves in watchmaking with its distinct case shape, acutely recognisable to this day. Patek Philippe is introducing an elegant chain-style bracelet in rose gold, distinguishing Ref. 5738/1R-001 from its counterparts which have traditionally featured leather straps and a choice of chain or link bracelets. The new bracelet offers an advanced level of comfort, following the contours of the wrist with innovative design features that combine both contemporary and patented technology. The incredibly finessed timepiece presents an ebony-black sunburst dial on which slender applied hour markers and hands, all in rose gold, stand out clearly.

Ref. 5520RG-001, Ref. 5164G-001, Ref. 5269R-001 – Refined variations of the travel watches

At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Patek Philippe enriches the esteemed travel watch collection with three reimagined versions of its renowned timepieces.

The Alarm Travel Time Reference 5520RG-001 is reintroduced to the collection in an elegant two-tone version: a case in rose gold and the tubes of the four pushers in white gold. Joining the existing timepiece in platinum with an ebony-black sunburst dial (Ref. 5520P-001), the new Travel Time watch features a stand-out two-tone dial in grey sunburst and charcoal grey, with applied Arabic numerals and sword-shaped hands in charcoal-grey white gold with luminescent coating.

A much-anticipated addition to the Aquanaut Travel Time collection, the series of self-winding timepieces introduces its first version in white-gold. The casual yet chic wristwatch showcases Patek Philippe’s thoughtful design, featuring a harmonious colour scheme with a blue-grey opaline dial and a matching integrated strap in a composite material. Thanks to its self-winding caliber 26-330 S C FUS, the wearer of this timepiece has only to press on one of the two pushers set into the left flank of the case to advance or move back the local-hour hand (the solid hand) in one-hour steps, without any effect on the watch's rate accuracy.

Another addition to the Aquanaut family, Patek Philippe introduce a reimagined Travel Time Reference 5269. The contemporary and casual chic aesthetic is enriched with a new non gem-set rose gold version, equipped with the exclusive quartz caliber. Creating the perfect harmony of colour, Ref. 5269R-001 features a blue-grey opaline dial embossed with the Aquanaut motif, and its integrated strap is crafted in a matching composite material.

Ref. 5236P-010, Ref. 5160/500R-001, Ref. 5396G-017 – New faces among the calendar watches

Celebrated in the world of fine watchmaking for its series of calendar timepieces, Patek Philippe introduces three new innovations to the collection.

Released in 2021 in a platinum case framing a blue dial with a black gradation to the periphery, Patek Philippe revisits this platinum timepiece at this year’s Watches and Wonders. The reimagined Ref. 5236P-010 is endowed with a rose-gilt opaline dial of vintage inspiration presenting facetted baton-style applied hour markers and facetted baton-style hands, all in charcoal-grey white gold. The new, distinct colourway distinguishes this timepiece from its platinum counterpart, showcasing pioneering craftsmanship decorated with vintage inspiration.

Patek Philippe reimagines a much-loved timepiece, Ref. 5160/500G-001, with a reinterpretation in rose gold with a silvery opaline gold dial that presents applied Breguet numerals in blackened white gold and pear-shaped hands in black-oxidized yellow gold. The new timepiece, Ref. 5160/500R-001, features the extremely sought-after case and dial centre which has been fully engraved by hand in a remarkable showcase of Patek Philippe’s rare handcrafts. The Rare Handcrafts Retrograde Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5160/500R-001 replaces the previous version in white gold.

Launched in 2006, the men's Annual Calendar Reference 5396 is one of Patek Philippe’s most renowned timepieces. Revisiting this classic wristwatch, Patek Philippe introduces a new version in white gold featuring a blue sunburst dial with a black gradient at the rim. Featuring the double day/month aperture at 12 o’clock, date aperture at 6 o’clock and its subsidiary 24-hour dial incorporating a moon-phase display that garnered love among watch aficionados, this timepiece is further enriched by the enchanting brilliance of 12 baguette diamonds hour-markers.

Ref. 4910/1201R-010, Ref. 5980/60G-001, Ref. 5268/461G-001 – New takes on timeless feminine elegance, sporty style and haute joaillerie

The ultimate embodiment of timeless feminine elegance, the Twenty~4 has remained the perfect accompaniment to the life of modern women since its introduction in 1999. This year, Patek Philippe is revisiting the “manchette” model with a quartz movement with a new model in rose gold. The new Twenty~4 Reference 4910/1201R-010 is embossed with a motif of concentric waves, before being coated with several dozen fine layers of translucent lacquer, the first layers tinted purple, the later layers colourless, creating delicate plays of light and depth. This striking timepiece is the perfect way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Twenty~4 collection.

The Nautilus self-winding flyback chronograph comes in a new white-gold version with an opaline blue-grey dial. Maintaining the harmonious colours of the collection, this reinterpreted model reflects its sophisticated colourway with the choice of blue-grey denim-patterned calfskin strap and blue-grey composite material strap with fabric pattern. The elegant-sporty timepiece offers a new feel to the existing timepieces in rose gold and two-tone steel and rose gold versions.

Decorating what is traditionally a “contemporary casual chic” timepiece with baguette-cut diamond and blue sapphires, Patek Philippe showcases true innovation and rare craftsmanship. The new Ref. 5268/461G-001 in white gold is an enrichment of the Aquanaut line, demonstrating “snow” and “baguette” diamond settings to create an enchanting checkerboard pattern reminiscent of the iconic Aquanaut dial. This delicate harmony of nuances continues through to the integrated composite strap, in a new shade of dark blue.
