Make a Statement With Breitling

Founded in 1884 by Leon Breitling, they are one of the few remaining family owned watch manufactures. As a family run business ourselves, we always love a strong family history, but we also love great craftsmanship and innovative design, and Breitling have plenty of this up their sleeves too.

In 1915 Breitling invented a push piece that heralded the first chronograph wristwatch, and then were the first to produce an automatic chronograph in 1969. Their Breitling B01 caliber chronograph movement is made completely in-house, comprises 346 parts and has a minimum 70 hour power reserve. And it's not just their mechanical movements that are impressive. Their SuperQuartz™ movement is 10 times more accurate than a standard quartz movement and is as accurate as you will ever find in a wristwatch. In fact the SuperQuartz™ movements, as with all Breitling's mechanical movements, are COSC certified, the highest benchmark of precision and reliability and an accolade that no other brand of its size can claim!

Driving this technology is Breitling's ethos to create "instruments for professionals". Whether it is enhancing the precision of its movements, reinforcing the sturdiness of the cases, improving the readability of the dials or developing new functions, high standards and high performance are always paramount. Their chronographs were the timepiece of choice for aviation pioneers, and their onboard chronographs were used by the Royal Air Force in their WWII propeller-driven fighter planes.

With an extensive repertoire of eye-catching and highly-functional watches, Breitling have something to suit every wrist. Here are a few of our favourites:

Breitling Avenger Blackbird 44

The titanium case with DLC coating ensures the guarantee of the Avenger’s ‘Blackbird’ promise. The dial and strap continue the strong black theme in this statement watch. The key accent being the luminous materials and splashes of red on the dial and at the tip of the seconds hand. Whilst black, we love the different finishes throughout the piece, from the case with its satin finish to the textured matt dial.

Transocean Chronograph 1915

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Breitling’s invention of the chronograph push piece, this watch has fantastic vintage style thanks to its Mercury silver dial. It features the manually wound manufacture Breitling calibre B.14 with double column wheel, 30min chronograph and date. A fantastic blend of tradition and modernity, it is limited to 1,915 pieces.

Breitling Galactic Unitime Sleek T

Two aspects make this Breitling really stand out to us. The Breitling Galactic Unitime SleekT features a bezel made of tungsten carbide, a high-tech, uber-resistant material made by moulding tungsten powder at very high heat and under extreme pressure. This Breitling also features the brand new movement — the automatic Caliber B35, which is the first in-house Breitling movement of its kind. We love new technology and this watch is ticking all the right boxes for us!
