How To Find Out Her Ring Size?

So you've met the girl you want to spend the rest of your life with, and you've decided to ask her the big question.. only one problem - how to find out her ring size? We know how daunting this can be for future fiancées - but fear not! Every proposer in history has had the exact same worry - and there are many ways to find out her ring size. Let us guide you through some of the sneakiest options..

ASK HER FRIENDS

If anyone apart from your other half is likely to know her ring size, it will be one of her closest friends. Ask them if they have any idea, maybe she's even slyly dropped her ring size into conversation with them. Does she have any friends who are already engaged? Maybe they can sneakily ask her to try on their engagement ring - and then report back to you on how the size fitted her!

BORROW ONE OF HER RINGS

Have you ever seen her wear a ring on the ring finger of her left hand? If not, start keeping an eye out! Once she has, borrow the ring on a day she is unlikely to notice it missing, and take it to your local jeweller.  The team here at Laings will be able to size a ring for you in minutes!

ASK HER!Signature Platinum 2.01ct Brilliant Diamond Ring

If all else fails, why not just ask her outright.  Just because she'll know that you're planning on proposing, doesn't mean she knows when! You can still sweep her off her feet and give her a big surprise, and this way she'll have the perfect size of ring from the moment you two are engaged.

BUT WAIT!

If you can't find out her ring size, and you don't want to ask her, then don't fret! Pick the ring you want to propose with and propose.  We would suggest that you err on the slightly larger side, and then once you have proposed, if the ring is a little too tight or loose, we will resize it. Laings will do this - completely free of charge - until you have the most perfect fit.  Just be aware that resizing is only this easy for rings that don't have diamond 'shoulders', ie. rows of diamonds on the band of the ring, beside the central stone.  All is not lost if the ring you've chosen does have shoulders, it can still be resized or ordered in new - it will just take a tiny bit longer for us to do.
