Chopard Brand Review
Founded in 1860, Chopard’s in-house designers have managed to create a wide range of stunning product from the masculine Mille Miglia range with its motor racing heritage to the ultra feminine Happy Diamond watches. Highly unusually for us, we carry both their ranges of watches and jewellery which shows just how much we love them as a brand! To give us a bit more insight, we asked our Chopard brand manager from Cardiff, Tom, to tell us what he loves about the brand and which pieces he has a soft spot for.
"One of the main reasons that Chopard stands out to me is because it has been involved and supported a number of valuable causes for many years. The company supports José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation, the Elton John AIDS Foundation and The Prince’s Foundation which are all dedicated to improving the well-being of others. The Scheufele family is involved with The Prince of Wales's Charitable Foundation donating Chopard pieces as a symbol of their support of the Prince's cause.
Another key reason I love the Chopard brand is its history. As the official timekeeper of the world’s most famous regularity race for classic cars, Chopard has created the Mille Miglia Chronograph self-winding watch in stainless steel. Inspired by the beauty of classic cars, its elegant curves, black dial inspired by vintage car dashboards and chronometer-certified "engine" express a perfect pairing of auto mobile design and mechanical watch making.
The Happy Diamonds collection is one of my favourite ranges of jewellery as it is a signature design by Chopard, making it renowned around the world. It was inspired by the waterfall near the factory, when a worker noticed how the water reflected on the lake. Captivated by the beauty, the aim was to mirror the effect with their jewellery. To capture this, the diamonds are cased in white gold and layered freely in between two pieces of sapphire crystal. This showcases the diamonds beautifully, making it completely unique from any other brand.
