Breitling Wing Walking Adventure

I was recently invited to Duxford Air Museum by Breitling for a training seminar, as I am the Breitling Brand Manager for Edinburgh. We had an overnight stay in Cambridge and in the morning we were taken on a tour of the museum. This reiterated the strong and hugely passionate link between Breitling and aviation. It was also great to be able to get all the Breitling brand managers together as you were easily able to sense the devotion for the brand! During the seminar we were lucky enough to be introduced to some of the beautiful new 2015 releases including:

The B55 Connected - This is something that truly amazed all of us at the training! It is the first connected chronograph. Whilst a lot of the information about this watch is still top secret at the moment, we are hoping to get it in store later in the year so I can't wait to let everyone know when it arrives!

Avenger Blackbird 44 – perfect for every day wear. The super light weight titanium case makes this watch extremely comfortable and easy to wear, which is a fantastic benefit when wearing a watch with a large case size. Described by Breitling as "light and sturdy" and I couldn't agree more. The titanium case is coated with a black carbon based treatment and is finished with a satin brushed look, which beautifully accentuates its 'Stealth' look.

At dinner the on the first night, we were asked to look under our seats as we each had a playing card stuck to the underside. Of course I had the Joker card! This meant that  I was one of the 6 lucky (or unlucky, depending on who you ask!) who had been given the incredible opportunity to go Wing Walking! We were introduced to the Breitling pilots and two of the professional Wing Walkers, and after some preparation we got our outfits, climbed up on to the top of the plane and strapped in. I felt very safe in the hands of the pilot on my plane, David Barrell who has flown in over 400 air shows! After waiting for the plane to heat up, we were up in the air. It was the most amazing, adrenaline filled experience I have ever had! Not only this but I was also given the chance to fly alongside a Spitfire on another flight, it was surreal being so close to such an impressive plane.

Breitling really wanted to emphasise the fact they have closed so many doors with other companies and they are becoming more and more exclusive, which is wonderful for us being the only Breitling store in Edinburgh with the closest stockists being as far as Glasgow. The best thing about the whole experience was that it was very true to the brand, what better way to show us the strong bond they still have with aviation than to strap us to the top of a plane?!
