Who Can Help You From Laings?

Laings offers a bespoke, handmade jewellery service to our customers and our bespoke team have created some really wonderful pieces.

Kirsty Berry is an award-winning designer who studied at Glasgow School of Art and is known for designing exquisitely elegant and contemporary jewellery. She’s joined by Alison Harris who, after studying at Duncan Jordanstone College of Art and Design, has been honing her skills with Laings. Stuart Thomson, a certified diamond grader completes the bespoke team, with over 35 years’ experience in the trade he brings the ideas to life.

“A positive and personal experience is key when you are dealing with design customers and I feel here at Laings we are very unique in the fact that we have a dedicated design department for bespoke work to be  carried out. Customers are able to meet with either myself or Kirsty and having our own in house goldsmith adds to the experience for the customer as they are also able to meet with Stuart at certain points throughout the design process. This allows customers to meet the person who will be carrying out the work which makes it a more personal experience and allows for any more technical questions to be answered. Myself and Kirsty both work closely with Stuart and I feel that this is a great creative dynamic to be a part of as we are able to bring our individual skills and knowledge and work together to provide the best service to our customers.” – Alison

How Will Laings Help With The Process?

Each piece is custom-designed at Laings to your own specifications. Whether it’s a wedding ring, necklace, bracelet, brooch – whatever you’re dreaming of – the team will take you from concept to completion and help you along your jewellery journey. Each design is different, and so each process individual. We’ll always start with a consultation, moving on to producing the designs and from there we can make appointments to keep you  involved every step of the way.

“It’s fantastic to work on commissions throughout the process, right from the conception, with the customer being involved for the entire journey. Meeting with the clients’ right from the conception is always exciting as we get to hear their ideas and get to work on a sample product. For me, I really enjoy it when the client sees the end product and their delight and pleasure at seeing the finished article.” - Stuart

“We have also recently invested in Matrix technology which will allow us to create computer generated images and designs to customer’s specifications for things that may not be possible to be made by hand.
