JET1 Bransom Award Winner - Alison Harris

Every month a JET1 candidate is awarded the highly-coveted Bransom Award and in January Laings very own Alison Harris was crowned the winner!

Bransom Award 16387942_1180983288676212_463310452977290667_nRun by the NAJ (The National Association of Jewellers) and sponsored by Bransom Retail Systems, JET1 (Jewellery Education and Training) is an internationally recognised qualification that helps participants to achieve their potential in the jewellery industry. The Bransom Award, chosen by an external moderator, recognises the most outstanding work that has been submitted.

Alison was praised for her work with the course moderator noting: “you fully understand the value of Diamond Product Knowledge” and “you have a highly developed customer care skills”. Her expertise in design was also Bransom Award Capturehighly commended as one part of the course involved going over the Repair and Restoration of a Victorian Diamond Ring. Alison’s work was applauded as “by far the best one from a JET Certificate participant ever”.

And of course Alison was delighted to hear that she had been crowned the winner!

“It was a lovely feeling for my JET1 Project to be recognised by the NAJ and to receive the Bransom Award. I’m just preparing to start my JET 2 course now in order to work towards receiving my full diploma (P.J.Dip). This is an amazing training opportunity and Laings have been very supportive, encouraging me to continue with JET. I am always keen to develop my knowledge of the jewellery industry, so I am really looking forward to seeing what this next course has in store for me!”

Alison joined the team at Laings over four years ago when she worked on the shop floor as a Sales Consultant, whilst also completing her degree in Jewellery and Metal Design at Duncan Jordanstone College of Art and Design. After graduating Alison began working full time in our Design Department creating beautiful bespoke pieces for Laings customers.

Again a huge congratulations to Alison!
