Peridot is one of only a few gemstones to be found in just one colour. It contains iron trace elements which gives Peridot it's signature green colour and dependant on the amount of pressure in the crystal, the shades can range from yellow-green to intense olive-green. Peridot is a doubly refractive stone which gives it amazing fire when cut well and the glow from this gemstone can be seen even in low light, perhaps the reason it was believed to ward off evil during the night.
