Inspired by the design of a combat vehicle viewed from above, Cartier's Tank Must watch follows one clear graphic principle: the stretchers were the treads, the case was the turret. From this combination came a new and fundamental principal: the case attachments are aligned with the strap to maintain the rhythm of the design.

A large model with rounded brancards, a steel case, a beaded crown set with a sapphire cabochon and blued-steel sword-shaped hands, this Tank Must stays faithful to the spirit of the 80s design with its limited edition monochromatic blue dial and blue alligator-skin strap.
Inspired to make a watch much more masculine than anything else on the market, Louis Cartier (grandson of company founder Louis-Francois Cartier) introduced the Tank watch to the world in 1917. Its rectangular shape echoed the angled contours of the First World War military tank, the Renault FT-17. Throughout the years, the Tank timepiece has developed into countless variations including primary colour versions, full gold and diamond-set models and adorned wrists such as Andy Warhol and Princess Diana.
