The Pelagos was introduced with TUDOR’s heritage at the forefront of its design, honouring the evolution of its diving watches and testing in real conditions all over the world.
Navy Guidance
The roots of TUDOR are deeply ingrained in marine excellence, having been responsible for the creation of one of the first modern professional divers’ watches. The fitting association dates back to the 1950s and has inspired several of TUDOR’s diving watches over the decades. A recent reignition of this relationship materialised in the creation of the TUDOR Pelagos FXD, designed to meet the unique set of specifications of the French Navy’s combat swimmers. Ensuring reliability in all missions carried out by the Marine nationale, TUDOR fitted this timepiece with a 120 click bi-directional bezel with anticlockwise graduation, large bezel ring for optimum grip, 200 m waterproofness and hour markers filled with grade X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent material.
Continuing to honour this heritage, TUDOR introduced its iconic Pelagos in a “left-handed” version, with its winding stem on the left of the middle case so that it can worn on the right wrist. In the past, TUDOR had created specially made watches of this type at the request of diving professionals.
TUDOR Pelagos 39
This year, TUDOR introduces the most refined and elegant version of the Pelagos, while maintaining the impressive innovations associated with the collection. The TUDOR Pelagos 39 is a versatile watch at the crossroads between the world of technical diving and urban sophistication.
The new addition to the Pelagos series features grade 2 titanium luminescent ceramic composite monobloc hour markers, a rapid adjustment system for the clasp and diver's extension. With these cutting-edge technical features combined with the striking sunray satin finish and refined 39mm dial, the Pelagos 39 provides its wearer with a high-performance and stylish timepiece.
The Pelagos 39 is equipped with manufacture calibre MT5400. Its construction ensures robustness, longevity, reliability and precision due to its variable inertia balance, which is held in place by a sturdy traversing bridge with two points of fixation. This impressive movement is COSC certified, and in fact, goes beyond the standards set by the prestigious institute.
Ready for any adventure, the Pelagos 39 is supplied with an entirely satin-brushed titanium bracelet that is equipped with the TUDOR “T-fit” clasp for rapid length adjustment. A second strap made of black rubber is also supplied, with rubber extension piece that makes it possible to lengthen the strap even further by up to 110 mm.
