Striving towards cardiovascular health for everyone, the World Heart Foundation unites a diverse community to bring heart and circulatory health to the forefront of the global agenda. Wednesday 29th September marks World Heart Day, raising awareness for the world’s biggest killers, in a mission to achieve heart health for all.
A cause close to our heart, the British Heart Foundation is a charity that resonates personally with the Laing family and we are dedicated to helping it raise vital funds for life-saving work that they do. Funding research to find cures and treatments for heart and circulatory disease, the BHF have helped develop machines that can restart hearts and devices to correct heartbeats while educating with CPR and awareness training. However, these devastating conditions still kill 1 in 4 people in the UK – so there is more work to be done. Our support will aid the charity’s vision of a world without heart and circulatory diseases.
Tour De Laings
As in the past, Laings have many activities planned to creatively assist the work of the BHF. During the summer, our teams completed ‘Tour de Laings’, a journey of 2,093km and the distance between all four of our cities – Glasgow, Edinburgh, Southampton and Cardiff. Running, walking, swimming and cycling, our showroom, head office and director teams completed the journey to raise over £2,732.50 for the foundation. Our devotion continues with the first of our Laings annual golf days.
Gleneagles Golf Day
Clients will travel to Gleneagles for a day of sport, while raising money for the BHF with charity auctions and initiatives. Join us in our mission with the Laings silent auction, running from the 20th – 24th of September 2021. The array of incredible prizes featured include a 4 ball at the world-renowned Gleneagles Golf Course, framed golf shirt signed by Dennis Law and fine dining experiences.
