Patek Philippe Showcases New Nautilus Collection

Legendary watch house, Patek Philippe, presents its latest collection of Nautilus models at Watches and Wonders 2021 – a world-first exhibition, online and offline, of the finest craftsmanship in watchmaking. Discover the new collection of one of Patek Philippe’s most iconic watches with Laings.

The History of Nautilus

Launched in 1976, the Nautilus broke the mould with stainless steel, an octagonal bezel with rounded corners and a design inspired by a ship’s porthole – unconventional for luxury watches of its time. Despite this, the watch stayed true to Patek Philippe’s undying commitment to exemplary craftmanship and technicality, with water resistance to 120 meters.

With its horizontal relief embossing on the dial and the integrated steel bracelet with external links that tapered in the direction of the clasp, the Nautilus immediately proved to be the perfect embodiment of casual elegance. Going on to become one of the most globally celebrated watch designs and a formidable model in Patek Philippe’s portfolio.

In 2006, on the 30th anniversary of Nautilus, its style was subtly reworked. Today, it is part of a collection for ladies and men with over 25 versions in stainless steel, rose gold, white gold or bicolour (steel/rose gold) as well as metal bracelets or alligator leather straps.

This Nautilus in olive green is also presented with the addition of a unique combination of stainless steel and baguette diamonds. Featuring 32 flawless Top Wesselton baguette diamonds, equating to 3.6 ct, the model is a luminous articulation of Patek Philippe’s fusion of precision and extraordinary luxury.

Both models are water-resistant to 120 meters, feature a mechanical movement that can be admired through the sapphire-crystal case back and use a new self-winding calibre.

Patek 59901R-001 Nautilus

Ref. 5990/1R-001 Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph: a new look in rose gold with a blue sunburst dial

The 2021 Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph launches in a new rose gold hue, with the same incredibly useful complications of the 2014 model: a flyback chronograph, a Travel Time function (two time zones) and an analogue date at 12 o'clock synchronized with local time. The rose gold encasing contrasts beautifully with the horizontally embossed deep blue sunburst dial, as well as with the hour markers and hands in rose gold with luminous coatings.

Nautilus Haute Joaillerie Watch

Ref. 7118/1450R-001 Nautilus Haute Joaillerie: a new version of the Nautilus with a random pavé setting

Handcrafted with rose gold and an incredibly intricate diamond snow-setting on the case, the bezel, and the bracelet, the 2021 ladies’ Nautilus Haute Joaillerie release represents the unrivalled prestige of Patek Philippe. The exclusive dial features individual Top Wesselton brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing in total 12.69 ct, in a very rare snow-setting technique, also known as random pavé. This highly sophisticated method is mastered down to the last detail by the manufacture’s artisans, with each full random pavé becoming a one-of-a-kind piece.
