How Should you Take Care of Jewellery?

Looking after your jewellery is important to keep it in the best possible condition. Make sure you store your pieces in a jewellery case with a soft lining and at room temperature, you don't want a hot and humid attic, nor a cold, drafty closet. For jewellery you wear just about every day we recommend you visit us for a clean, check and polish every 12-18 months. This way our jewellers can check your pieces for security, as well as giving a full clean. If you want to spruce up your jewellery at home, you can clean it regularly with a soft baby's toothbrush and a little gentle soap. Why are Diamonds Suitable for Jewellery?

Diamonds are a favourite amongst jewellery-makers not only for their beauty but also their practicality. Measuring 10 on the Mohs scale of Hardness diamonds are the strongest known natural material on earth, and why they popularly represent never-ending love. Whilst diamonds are not indestructible they have a certain resistance to scratches, cracks and breakages that aren't found in many gemstones, making them the perfect choice for jewellery making.

What's the Difference Between White Gold and Platinum?

Jewellery often comes in a range of metals and it can be difficult to tell the difference between white gold and platinum as they both have a sparkly, silver hue. The choice is completely up to you. Many jewellery wearers prefer the lighter feel of white gold, whereas others like the durability of platinum. If you're unsure check with your jeweller who will help find the best fit for you.
