We're proud to introduce ‘A Gift from the Heart’ to support the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Throughout the season of Christmas gifting, we will gift a one-off donation to the BHF to help them to continue the life-saving work that they do.
Christmas is known as the season of giving, and this year a present from Laings will be going one step further. Our campaign, A Gift from the Heart, will run from Friday 27th November, until Christmas Eve, when we will gift a one-off donation to the BHF.
Launching on the biggest shopping weekend of the year, Black Friday, this festive season a purchase from Laings can really make a difference. A huge part of the magic of Christmas is helping others, and this year more than ever we need to look at ways to support important charities, such as the BHF.
The BHF is a charity that resonates personally with the Laing family, and we are dedicated to helping them to raise vital funds. The campaign ‘A Gift from the Heart’ is a special way to say thank you for all of the life-saving work they do.
Stuart McDowell, Retail Director at Laings, commented: “A Christmas gift from Laings will always hold a special meaning, this year even more so than ever. It’s fantastic for us to be able to support such a valuable charity and amazing to think that a gift from us could make a life-changing difference.
“We know that BHF has faced huge challenges this year, and understand that they still need our support. Their research must continue as they work towards a better future, and it’s a privilege to be able to help in any way we can.”
BHF is a charity that funds research to find cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases, the world’s biggest killers. Over the years they’ve helped to develop machines which can restart hearts, devices to correct heartbeats and so much more. However, heart and circulatory diseases still kill 1 in 4 people in the UK, and there’s more work to be done. Our donation will help to support their vision of a world without heart and circulatory diseases.
The effects of Covid-19 have cut their ability to fund new research in half. Slowing down now puts even more lives at risk, at a time when hearts need more help than ever. Over the year, shops had to be closed, countless fundraising events were cancelled, and plans were put on hold. However, research is so important now to deal with new and pressing challenges, but also to protect 60 years of progress.
The work of the BHF is far from done, and we hope that our campaign can help the charity to take steps to help loved ones now and in the future, moving ever closer to beating heartbreak forever.
