This year we launched a brand new website to ensure that our online customer experience is second-to-none. As well as our website our Glasgow Jewellery and Watch Boutique in the Argyll Arcade, Glasgow received a dazzling make-over. The space was transformed with an indulgent and luxurious look, ensuring that all of our customers are treated to the sparkling Laings experience that is recognised all over the UK. The exquisite jewellery displays are complemented by prestigious watch brands and the Pre-Owned Collection within the store regularly features highly sought-after models.
This year we embarked on a glamourous photoshoot at the magnificent Gosford House, creating seasonal looks to showcase our range of beautiful jewellery and handsome watches. With daffodils swaying in the background Spring was a season where romance blossomed and we celebrated the everlasting brilliance of diamonds. For our Summer campaign we partnered with high-end interiors company, Bluebellgray, to create a vibrant summer that was a true celebration of colour. We transformed our stores with Bluebellgray’s playful and bright prints, which perfectly complemented radiant gemstone jewellery and colourful timepieces.
The enchanting libraries of Gosford House gave Autumn an indulgent feel and there was a touch of elegance to the season. Gathered round the grand fireplace we found a Laings family Christmas. The cosy setting created a beautiful family feel and there was magic in the air this winter.
This year we’ve continued our commitment to supporting the British Heart Foundation, helping them to raise vital funds to carry on the battle against heart and circulatory diseases. We’ve raised almost £14,000 through a variety of activities, including a gruelling 100km trek and donating £50 from every sale from our Family Collection in February. We’ve also held CPR training sessions, aiming to have every member of our team equipped with the life-saving skill. As a charity that resonates personally with the Laing family, we’re looking forward to continuing our commitment in 2020.
Laings are always delighted to welcome customers to a host of dazzling events and 2019 was no exception. We held glittering Diamond Dinners across the UK in luxurious locations. As well as showcasing a spectacular range of incredible jewellery we also had our goldsmiths on hand to demonstrate the craftsmanship that goes into the creation of spectacular pieces of bespoke jewellery.
We invited customers to a range of incredible events with our watch brands. Customer enjoyed celebrating the Silver Spitfire take-off with IWC, as the restored and polished Spitfire aircraft embarked on its unprecedented flight around the world. Customers were also invited to Switzerland, where they were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate engineering that goes into every single IWC timepiece, learning more about their iconic Manufacture.
Along with Patek Philippe customers were delighted by truly indulgent experiences. The exclusive ‘Le Voyage’ event saw clients enjoying a luxury train journey on the Northern Belle, transporting them to a Patek Philippe Watch Exhibition at Dumfries House. The night before they were also invited to a sumptuous meal at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, overlooking Edinburgh Castle, where they could browse our fine collection of jewellery.
With Rolex the world of sport was opened up to our customers. Clients were invited to live life in the fast-lane with Rolex and Goodwood Revival, a festival at Goodwood Circuit for all types of road-racing cars and motorcycles that would have competed when the circuit was originally opened (1948 – 1966). As well as racing, Rolex and Laings also gave customers the chance to enjoy golf at the Solheim Cup. The tournament is the pinnacle of women’s golf and the best players from Europe and the USA went head-to-head.
