Baselworld 2019 - TAG Heuer Autavia

TAG Heuer Autavia

This year at Baselworld TAG Heuer launched the re-invented Autavia collection. Looking back on historic models they have introduced seven new variations. The collection was inspired by the automobile and aviation industry and the new range is versatile, robust and reliable with a rugged, masculine charm.

The Autavia was originally a dashboard instrument that Heuer manufactured for race cars and aircrafts. Extending the production of the Autavia to watchmaking, the collection is known to use the best available technology for high performance and reliability. TAG Heuer have equipped the new Autavia with their chronometer-certified Calibre 5 movement and a lightweight, low density carbon-composite hairspring. It's a timepiece which is resistant and very well crafted.

With the re-creation of this heritage model, TAG Heuer fashioned the range with a distinctive, contemporary aesthetic. The dial is bold as it features large, attention-grabbing Arabic numerals and strong hour and minute hands. Paying homage to its aviation past it has an XL crown, which makes the watch easy to wind whilst wearing gloves in a cockpit. For a retro touch, the watch also comes in a bronze case with the option of a brown or green dial.
