The Polaris collection from Jaeger-LeCoultre is a launch that watch enthusiasts have been patiently waiting for and the revival of the legendary diving watch did not disappoint. Inspired by the iconic Memovax Polaris watch, which was originally released in 1968, the Swiss watch brand introduced the renewed collection at SIHH 2018 (Salon International de la Haute Horologerie) and we’re delighted to now stock it at Laings.
Jaeger-LeCoultre began their watchmaking journey in 1833 and over time they have become well known for their elegant and refined timepieces. With their long history they are a revered brand in the watchmaking world and a combination of the past, present and future characterises all of their designs – the Polaris is no different.
The original Polaris was a diver’s watch and the alarm, which reminded diver’s to return to the surface, was at the heart of the heritage model. It was finished with a simple look and domed glass to 
make it easy to read. Today’s version takes inspiration from the iconic aesthetic, but meets the demands of today’s active lifestyle.

Designed for the life and travels of the modern gentleman it has useful functionalities, such as the date, alarm, chronograph and worldtime chronograph complications, which are also in-keeping with the practical nature of the brand.
The watches are also completed with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s impressive manufacturing and all of the mechanical movements are made in-house. It boasts highly reliable timekeeping and has been through rigorous testing, including the ‘1,000 Hour Test’.
The Polaris has a sporting character, its design has a robustness to it, yet its simple aesthetic still embodies the characteristic elegance of the Grande Maison. It’s also has a contemporary design with clean lines and a modern look, but it still hints at its heritage, with a vintage feel to it. With steel and leather bracelets, vibrant blue and sophisticated dark dials this is a sports watch for everyone.
