Choose Your Background Wisely
When choosing where to take your picture, choose your background wisely. You want a background that lets the ring do the talking, but is equally part of the picture. The best choice is to make the background something/somewhere that is relevant to you as a couple or your engagement.
If your partner proposed somewhere with a significant meaning to the two of you, you might want to capture that location in the background of your shot, however if you really want to let your ring be the focal point, keep the background plain and simple.

If you’re not a highly edited kind of person, then don’t make the picture that way, keep it true to your usual style of photographs.
