Father's Day Dilemma - Which Type of Dad Do You Have?

On Sunday the 15th of June we will celebrate him - Dad, Daddy, Father, Paw, Dada or other. Whatever your term of endearment; good, bad or ugly it’s time to forget past arguments, move away from family tiffs and forgive any embarrassment previously caused from situations involving boyfriends/girlfriends, “the Dad dance” or any time your friends have been round ever.

As you may know, Laings of Glasgow has a particular reason to make a fuss on the big day since we have our very own Father & Daughter relationship within the business - Marketing and Sales Director Wendy Laing is the daughter of Executive Chairman Stuart Laing and together the make up the 5th AND 6th generation of the family business.

To help figure out what to treat him to this Father’s day, we take a look at some of the different types of Dad and what he might appreciate as a gift.

Businessman Dad – If your Dad works in a fast paced, high-powered environment you can bet that he starts his day with a cup of strong coffee every morning – so be there waiting for him at the door with his favourite mug filled to the brim with freshly brewed, caffeine filled, piping hot coffee.  If you want to go a step up and happen to have a little money saved for the occasion then an ideal treat could be a stylish pair of TAG Heuer cuff-links – the perfect finishing touch for the man who lives in a suit.TAG Heuer cufflinks

Sporty Dad – Sporty Dad is always on the move and loves taking part in energetic activities, so why not pick his favourite sport and make a handmade card featuring said sport to make it super-personalised. If there are perhaps a few siblings in your family and you are considering a joint pressie then the Bulova Marine Star watch could be the one - it's vibrant blue colouring gives it a sporty edge, and the rubber strap is comfortable and robust making it perfect for all his energetic adventures.

Casual Dad – He is laid back, relaxed and lives in his jeans so what could possibly make his life easier – perhaps breakfast in bed with a twist….fold his bacon rashers in to little heart shapes to show him how much you care. Alternatively if you feel that he is in desperate need of a wardrobe update but won’t budge on the clothes front then keep it low key with a small accessory – the Emporio Armani black rubber bracelet would be a great addition to his relaxed dress code.Armani bracelet

Poser Dad – Now if your Dad is the type who likes to make a statement with his clothes and accessories then there is a high chance he would appreciate some wardrobe TLC - You could clean, tidy and reorganise his wardrobe making everything neat and easy to find, making his life easier and helping to keep his suave clothes and shoes in check. If you were in position to make a special purchase, what could be more appropriate than a watch by the ultimate designer brand - Gucci! The mens black G-Timeless YA126304 watch is iconic, smart and a truly special gift for the man who has everything!Gucci watch father's day

No matter what you present him with this Father’s Day if it’s an expensive gift or just a big hug as long as he knows how much he means to you he will always adore you anyway!
