Laing’s staff night at 29 Private Members Club 30th January.

A wonderful night was had by all at the stunning Apartment in 29 Private Members Club,  http://www.29glasgow.com/ we were greeted on arrival with the drink of our choice and guided through to a beautiful room with round tables adorned with long, flowing, white tablecloths and ornate, silver candelabras…it was stunning!

We were there to celebrate….well nothing in particular but many things in general! We congratulated a long serving member of staff on her 30 years loyal service, we celebrated the success of our business during the year, and all the staff were given a big thank you for all the hard work put in during 2012.

There was a mouth-watering buffet laid on with a selection of delicious Tai green curry, Chinese noodles, pasta dishes, a choice of salads and the drinks were flowing with more wine than is sensible on a “school night”. We were all asked to contribute suggestions to a “caption competition” from pictures taken at the Christmas night out…however sadly I am unable to publish the winning entries since they contained some shall-we-say slightly uncouth wording…

Dinner was followed by a fantastic Karaoke session, with Managing Director Stuart Laing starting the show with his version of “When I’m sixty-four” by The Beatles…before we knew it the entire room was singing and dancing. The night was filled with some fantastic and truly remarkable performances… it was a mixed bag of song choices ranging from Britney Spears -Toxic to my personal favourite Robert Palmers - Addicted to Love.

All in all the evening was a roaring success, there was laughter, good food, music and dancing …and we all woke up the next day, fresh as daisies and ready to face the working day ahead with a smile!! Well…that’s not strictly true, there were one or two pale faces in the office this morning. But a terrific night was had by all, and we would like to thank our very generous Directors for treating us all to such fun.
